I'm new to the group; thanks to Lynne Coane Brofman. Thanks for the invite. Love seeing all the photos, and the familiar. My grandparents The Shippers from Berkeley Avenue owned Stacy Laundry, and Sanitary Linen Supply on Ward Avenue. My Savannah connection is my late Aunt Charlotte Shipper Garfunkel who moved to Savannah after her marriage. My gazillion cousins are all still there. The connection between my family and so many of the posted photos is simply awesome. My brother, Michael Miller, and I are the children of Selma Shipper Miller, and Dr. Joseph Miller of Sanhican Drive. "GO BLACK TEAM"!

to me, Robin

Arthur:

As always, we enjoy reading the Trenton etc. Jewish Historical Society Newsletter.  I was surprised you failed to list the Kraut family among those rooted in the Trenton community.  Maybe you could add an erratum to the next newsletter.

Once again Kudos on the extraordinary effort you have devoted to this important project.  If we don't have an opportunity to communicate beforehand, allow me to wish you and yours a happy, healthy, prosperous and peaceful New Year in 5784.

With admiration and respect,

Marc Zell (husband of Robin Marcy Kraut), parents of 8 Trentonian children and 21 Trentonian grandchildren in the Land of Israel.

Interesting story between Adam Exton, who first made Oyster Crackers in Trenton in 1847. Ezekiel Pullen started baking Oyster Crackers in his kitchen in 1948 and sold them from a wagon

.Christopher Cartlidge in 1887 took the name Original Trenton Crackers when he bought out Pullen. In 1962, Cartlidge bought out Exton.

Exton developed machines that could make the crackers untouched by human hands. They were more sanitary.

Exton is buried at Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton.
