  Cadwalader Park      Cadwalader Park is the largest urban park in the City of Trenton (109.5 acres). Originally the  Delaware & Raritan (D&R) Canal State Park flowed . Dr. Thomas Cadwalader of Philadelphia moved to Trenton in 1743 to become Chief Burgess (Burgess was a British title used in the  medieval  and early modern period to designate someone of the  burgher  class. Half a century later, it caught up in a significant industrial and commercial growth surge. Linked at last to the two great population centers to the north and south by rail, water, road business, and extensive enterprise, Trenton was an attractive center to locate. By 1857, the city's population was 15,000. Steel, rubber, and pottery were on the threshold of becoming significant industries. Retail trade flourished, and there was activity in real estate development. Trenton goods began to flow out to the nation's markets.
