To Arthur, Will

HI Arthur,

I hope you and your family have been well and are having a wonderful summer.

I connected with you a few years back.  You may remember that you were involved at Har Sinai when I attended Hebrew School there, and I was in class with your son, Danny.  Please pass along my regards to Danny.

The story of Har Sinai is so-so sad.  My grandfather, Julius Schafe, was the president who was there when they built the beautiful Har Sinai building on Bellevue, and he is mentioned in the story below.  I was pinge. You could email me PDFs of the following so we can keep records of:

·       Any info you may have on the macro-level history of the Trenton Jews – especially the German Jews

·       Any information involving Har Sinai and our family, and kindly include any pictures you may have – I believe that is our grandfather Julius Schafer with the shovel in the picture at the groundbreaking ceremony.

Thank you in advance,

Will Schafer

The school started at the intersection of Market Street and Cooper Street, where the Mercer County Detention Center was later located. Then it moved to the JCC on Stockton Street, where Trenton City Hall is located. Then it moved to the West State Street location, not far from Junior 3. I was a student at all three locations.
